Author, Humane Educator, Animal Communicator and Spiritual Counselor, Carole Devereux, and her husband Gregory Hunts, Network Manager at Stoel Rives Law Firm in Portland, Oregon wanted to find a way to work with their spiritual friends while maintaining a country home in a remote area of SW Washington. Carole's meditation practice, along with her work with animals drew them to this beautiful forested landscape. Their dream was to bring groups together to practice meditation while developing their skills in interspecies communication.

In August 2002, Carole and Greg opened their 10 acre horse property and log home to a limited number of people and animals for the purpose of spiritual growth through retreats, classes, workshops and clinics.

On a clear day, you can see the snow-capped peaks of Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams, as well as the treed valley to the south and as far south as Portland.

Accomodations: Double occupancy with private bathroom. A quaint B&B in La Center, just 7 miles west, also accomodates up to 8 people.

The high-beamed great room and dining room at Highland Retreat look to the south with a view of the pastures and make for a great workshop space. At night the sound of the wind rustling through the pines behind the house whisper to you to relax and enjoy. The only thing you will hear each morning is the rooster crowing. We chose this secluded location for its peacefulness, stillness, beauty and spiritual energy.

Let your spiritual adventure unfold in nature while sharing a wonderful retreat with diverse people and animals from all walks of life. See the Events Schedule for informatoin about Retreats in 2005.
